Check whether the session can still be left

Open Sessions, choose Joined, then open the upcoming session you want to leave or cancel.

For an eligible session, a player can cancel their reservation up to 48 hours before game day. The action may be unavailable after that cutoff or once the session's participation is locked. Eligibility still depends on the session type, its current state and the rules shown in uDink.

Leave a free or see-notes session

  1. Open the session detail.
  2. Use the available leave or RSVP-cancellation action.
  3. Confirm the change when asked.
  4. Wait for your participation status to update before closing the app.

For a see-notes session, contact the organiser separately if the notes describe an offline arrangement.

Cancel a completed prepaid reservation

Players can cancel their own prepaid reservation until 48 hours before the scheduled start. From less than 48 hours before the start until game time, players cannot cancel themselves: only the session host can cancel their place, at the host’s discretion. Contact the host if you need to request a late cancellation.

For example, for a Saturday 7pm game, the self-cancellation cutoff is Thursday 7pm. After that cutoff and before Saturday 7pm, the decision rests with the session host.

Check the refund details shown in the cancellation flow separately. Permission to cancel is not itself a guarantee of a refund. Confirm that your reservation status has changed; sending the host a message alone does not cancel it.

Once your cancellation is processed, the session host receives an email and an in-app notification. You can reopen the session to confirm that your reservation status has updated.

Cancel an incomplete pre-paid checkout

If checkout was not completed, return to the session and check your status. A pending or abandoned checkout is not the same as a confirmed paid place.

If the app still shows you as participating after an incomplete checkout, reopen the session once and contact support if the status remains incorrect.

Cancel a Reserve First, Pay Later reservation

Before the 48-hour cutoff and while cancellation is available:

  1. Open the post-paid session.
  2. Use the available reservation-cancellation action.
  3. Confirm the cancellation.
  4. Wait for the session to show that your reservation is no longer active.

The active production flow uses no-hold settlement, so no final charge has been created at reservation time. A legacy session may have used a temporary card authorisation; the card issuer controls when a released authorisation disappears.

After the cutoff or once participation is locked, leaving late or not attending may not prevent your share from being charged.

Understand refunds and no-shows

For an eligible cancellation, uDink applies the refund shown in the cancellation flow. A refund is not guaranteed for an ineligible late cancellation, a no-show or a reservation that is already locked. The result can depend on:

  • whether payment completed;
  • the session, organiser or venue policy;
  • when you cancelled;
  • whether the organiser cancelled or materially changed the session; and
  • applicable law.

Do not assume that deleting the app, leaving a group or sending a chat message cancels your reservation.

If the cancellation does not update

Reopen the session and check Joined. Contact support with the session title, date, current status and amount if the app still shows an active reservation. Never send a full card number or security code.

What happens next?

Confirm that the session no longer appears as active under Joined. If a payment or refund is involved, monitor its in-app and Stripe status separately.
