Your uDink username is the name other players see on your profile and in places such as sessions, player lists and groups. The app labels this Your Display Name on iPhone and Name on Android.
Usernames are unique
Every uDink username must be unique. Two users cannot have the same username.
When you enter a new name, uDink checks whether another account is already using it. The check is not case-sensitive, so changing only capital letters does not make an existing name available.
If you see Name in use, enter another., choose a different name. Android may also show an available suggestion.
Edit your username on iPhone or iPad
- Open uDink and select Profile.
- Under Player Info, select Your Display Name.
- Replace the current name with the new name you want to use.
- Pause briefly while uDink checks whether the name is available.
- If the new name remains in the field without an error, uDink saves the change automatically.
If the name is already in use, uDink restores your current saved name. Enter another unique name and try again.
Edit your username on Android
- Open uDink and select Profile.
- Under Player Info, select Name.
- Enter the new name in the Edit Name window.
- Select Save.
- Wait for Profile saved.
If the name is already in use, your current saved name remains on the profile. Enter another unique name or use an available suggestion shown by uDink.
If your username does not update
Check that:
- the name is not blank and contains letters or numbers;
- another user is not already using the name;
- the device has a working internet connection; and
- you waited for the availability check or save to finish before leaving Profile.
If your old username returns, the new name may be unavailable or the change may not have saved. Try another name once. Contact admin@udink.app if a unique name still cannot be saved.
What happens next?
Your saved username becomes the name other players see across uDink. Return to Profile whenever you want to update it again; each new username must still be unique.
